He is 12. His only complaint is that the wheels &quot;don't turn very much.&quot; If it were rechargeable that would make it so much better. The remote takes two AAA batteries, which isn't too bad and the truck takes six AA batteries. My husband is in trucking industry and that&rsquo;s why my son is obsessed with truck toys and figures. He was so excited to play with it as soon as he saw it. This truck comes with a well detailed design figure which looks so good . You need 8 batteries to operate it 2 for remote control and 6 for truck. Once you are finished with batteries installation you just need to turn on the remote and truck and it will ready to play. It has a really nice horn which sounds like real one. It also has blue flash lights which flashes while running. The running speed is so fast and smooth. You can easily use remote to drive it left/right, backwards/ forward and also you can blow horn with remote . This is made with great quality material and the design is made with a lot of details. The windows and roof can be open to make the driver sit on seat.
